About Navparv

7 questions

What is Navparv?
Navparv is India's AI-powered legal platform that helps citizens and lawyers draft RTI applications, legal notices, FIRs, complaints, wills, rent agreements, affidavits, and 30+ other legal documents — all in plain language. Simply describe your problem and our AI handles the legal formatting, correct citations, and proper structure.
Who can use Navparv?
Anyone! Citizens can use it to draft RTI applications, file complaints, generate FIRs, and get legal advice. Lawyers and law firms can use the Document Generator, Legal Templates, and Case Management tools. Students and researchers can explore Bare Acts, Legal Updates, and the Limitation Calculator — all for free.
Is Navparv a replacement for a lawyer?
No. Navparv is a legal technology tool that helps you create drafts, understand your options, and navigate processes. For complex matters, litigation, or matters in court, we strongly recommend consulting a qualified advocate. We even have a Lawyer Directory to help you find one.
Which languages does Navparv support?
All AI tools support 14 Indian languages: English, Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Odia, Assamese, Punjabi, Konkani, and Manipuri. You can type your query in any of these languages, and the draft will be generated in the same language.
Is Navparv free to use?
Many features are completely free — Bare Acts library, Limitation Calculator, Court Fee Calculator, RTI Templates, Cause List, application tracking, PDF/DOCX downloads, and more. AI-powered tools (drafting, legal advice, translations) charge a small fee (₹1–₹8) to cover infrastructure costs, and the first use of every AI tool is always free.
How do I get started?
Just visit any tool page and describe your issue. For the first draft, you don't even need an account. To save your work, track applications, or access billing history, sign in with your Google account or email OTP — it takes 10 seconds.
What makes Navparv different from other legal platforms?
Transparent, at-cost pricing with zero markup on AI costs. First use of every tool is free. 14-language support. AI that understands Indian law — IPC, BNS, CPC, RTI Act, and more. A physical Print & Post service that delivers your RTI via registered mail. And completely self-serve — no middleman between you and the government.

RTI Application Drafting

7 questions

How does RTI draft generation work?
Describe your complaint or question in plain language. Our AI runs a 4-step pipeline: (1) Intent Classification — identifies which government department handles your issue, (2) Entity Extraction — pulls out names, dates, locations, (3) Legal Refinement — adds correct legal citations and format, (4) Draft Generation — creates a complete, legally formatted RTI application ready for submission.
What does the first free RTI draft include?
Everything — the full AI-generated RTI application with proper formatting, legal citations, PIO addressing, and a downloadable PDF/DOCX/TXT file. No feature restrictions on the free draft.
Can I edit the AI-generated draft?
Absolutely. After generation, you get a full-featured editor to modify questions, PIO details, personal information, subject line, and more. You can re-download the updated version anytime.
How do I find the correct PIO (Public Information Officer)?
Use our PIO Lookup tool — type your area and topic, and we'll search our database of 10,000+ PIOs. If the PIO isn't in our database, AI-powered web search will find one from official government websites (.gov.in, .nic.in) in real time.
Can I file the RTI through Navparv?
You can download the PDF and file it yourself (online at rtionline.gov.in or by post), or use our Print & Post full-service delivery for ₹150 — we print, stamp, and send via registered post.
What if the PIO doesn't respond within 30 days?
You can file a First Appeal using Navparv's Appeal Generator. Our AI will draft a legally compliant First Appeal addressed to the correct First Appellate Authority. If that also fails, we help with Second Appeals to the Information Commission.
Where can I learn more about RTI specifically?
Check our dedicated RTI FAQ page at /faq-rti for 30+ detailed questions covering the filing process, fees, appeals, timelines, and legal rights under the RTI Act 2005. Our Learn RTI guide at /learn-rti also provides a step-by-step walkthrough.

Pricing & Credits

9 questions

How does pricing work on Navparv?
Every AI tool has two cost components: (1) AI Token Cost — the actual cost of running the AI model, passed through at cost with zero markup, and (2) Platform Fee — a small fixed fee (₹1–₹5) per tool to sustain the platform. Your first use of every AI tool is always free.
What are credits?
Credits are your wallet balance on Navparv, denominated in Indian Rupees (₹). When you use an AI tool, the total cost (AI + platform fee) is deducted from your credit balance. Credits never expire.
How do I add credits?
Click 'Add Credits' in the navigation menu. The minimum top-up is ₹20. Pay via Razorpay — UPI (Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm), credit/debit cards, or net banking. Credits are added instantly after payment.
What is the minimum balance required?
You need at least ₹10 in credits to use AI tools (after your first free use). If your balance drops below ₹10, you'll see a top-up prompt.
Is the first use of every tool really free?
Yes. The first time you use each AI tool — RTI Draft, FIR, Legal Notice, Legal Advisor, Complaint, Legal Translator, Document Generator, Legal Templates, PIO AI Search — it's 100% free. No credit card required. No hidden conditions.
How much does each tool cost?
RTI Draft: ~₹6.50–₹8 (₹5 platform + AI). Document Generator: ~₹6.50–₹8.50 (₹5 + AI). Legal Templates: ~₹7–₹9 (₹5 + AI). FIR: ~₹3–₹4.50 (₹2 + AI). PIO AI Search: ~₹2.10–₹2.20 (₹2 + AI). AI & Technology

5 questions

Which AI models does Navparv use?
We use OpenAI models: GPT-4o-mini (Quick mode), GPT-4o (Standard & Professional), and o3-mini (Premium mode). Different modes balance speed, cost, and quality. You choose the mode for each generation.
How accurate are the AI-generated documents?
Our AI is trained on Indian legal structures and maintains high accuracy for formatting, citations, and legal language. However, no AI is perfect — we always recommend reviewing the output and consulting a lawyer for critical matters. Each document includes a disclaimer.
Does the AI remember my previous queries?
Each generation is independent — the AI does not carry context from previous sessions. This is a deliberate privacy design. Your drafts are saved in your account, but the AI starts fresh each time.
What is the AI Token Cost?
AI models charge per 'token' (roughly 4 characters of text). We pass through the exact cost charged by OpenAI with zero markup. The cost varies by model: GPT-4o-mini is cheapest (~₹0.10–₹0.30 per document), GPT-4o is mid-range (~₹1–₹3), and o3-mini is the most expensive (~₹3–₹5) but most thorough.
Can the AI make legal mistakes?
Yes, like any AI tool. While our system is designed for Indian law and undergoes continuous improvement, it can occasionally use outdated references, miss nuances, or generate imprecise language. Always review the output. For high-stakes matters, consult a qualified advocate.
🔒

Privacy & Security

6 questions

Is my personal information safe?
Yes. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. We follow industry-standard security practices. We never sell, share, or monetize your personal data or document contents.
Does Navparv store my documents?
Your drafts are stored securely in your account so you can access them later. You can delete any document at any time. If you use the platform without signing in, nothing is stored server-side.
Who can see my legal documents?
Only you (and the PIO/recipient if you file). If you use Print & Post, our operations team reviews the draft before printing — they're bound by strict confidentiality agreements. If you share a draft via link, anyone with the link can view it.
Does Navparv send my data to OpenAI?
When you use an AI tool, the relevant inputs (your description, form fields) are sent to OpenAI's API for processing. OpenAI's API does not use this data for training. We do not send any data beyond what's needed for that specific generation.
Can the government see my Navparv account?
No. Navparv does not share user data with any government entity. Your RTI application will have your name and address (required by law for filing), but that information goes only to the specific PIO, not to any surveillance or tracking system.
What is your data retention policy?
We retain your data as long as your account is active. You can delete individual documents or request full account deletion anytime. After account deletion, all data is permanently removed within 30 days. See our Privacy Policy (/privacy) for full details.
